FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Increasing awareness of Olmsted Parks in Buffalo
(Buffalo, NY) — Beginning June 15, 2017, a customized wrapped bus provided by We Care Transportation, and sponsored by Bank of America, will be traveling the streets of Buffalo. This three-year awareness effort aims to increase visibility of the Olmsted Conservancy and the Olmsted parks in the region and to reinforce the importance of these free, recreational green spaces available for the entire Western New York community. The wrapped bus will travel within the city of Buffalo, primarily around the neighborhoods surrounding Delaware Park.
“We’re proud to support the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy’s efforts to create healthy neighborhoods in the City of Buffalo,” said Kevin Murphy, Buffalo market president, Bank of America. “Their work is vitally important in preserving green space for the more than 1 million people who visit and use the historic, award-winning Olmsted Park System annually for recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation.”
“Bank of America has been a dedicated supporter of the Conservancy for nearly 15 years,” stated Stephanie Crockatt, executive director. “Their partnership has sparked creativity and innovation with methods such as the new bus wrap to raise awareness and park appreciation in the community. Their contributions to the success of our non-profit, our workforce, and our park system have all been exemplary – it’s a complete package of support and it is deeply appreciated.”
This new initiative will debut this evening at the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in Delaware Park.

About the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy
The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is the first nonprofit organization in the nation to manage and operate an entire urban park system that consists of 850 acres of beautifully designed historic parks, parkways and circles. The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is a not-for-profit, membership-based, community organization whose mission is to promote, preserve, restore, enhance, and maintain the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed parks and parkways in the Greater Buffalo area for current and future generations. More than 2.5 million people use Buffalo’s historic, award-winning Olmsted Park system annually for recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation. The parks were designed by America’s first landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted more than 148 years ago. Basic maintenance of the parks has been greatly improved since the 2004 groundbreaking public-private agreement with the City of Buffalo and Erie County. Since that time, the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, now partnering with the City of Buffalo, has retained full responsibility for the management and care of these green spaces which are listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. Most recently, the American Planning Association recognized Delaware Park as one of the 2014 Great Places in America and The Guardian named the Olmsted park system as one of the best park systems in the world. bfloparks.wpengine.com
