NATURE IS APPARENTLY TESTING OUR SENSE OF HUMOR THIS WEEK, YET YOUR OLMSTED PARKS OPERATIONAL CREW REMAINS NIMBLE AS THEY ADJUST THROUGH WINDSTORMS, HAIL, RAIN, MUD AND SNOW.
We have an incredible team.
TEAM is such a word of truth right now, and the Conservancy is grateful to those who understand our essential, front-line role as park providers. We are striving to sustain what is sustaining you — the ability to get outdoors into a healthy environment and breathe.
Next week, we would typically see a surge of support and volunteerism with Earth Day, Arbor Day and Olmsted’s birthday. Instead we will continue our maintenance efforts with great fortitude and distance, until we can welcome volunteers back to the parks.
I ask you to join me from April 22nd to 26th on social media, using the hashtag #WeAreOlmstedStrong, to share words of appreciation and recognition of our incredible Conservancy team. I have never been so proud of our staff and the level of commitment we continue to put forward. Let us recognize them, along with so many others in essential, medical, and public services, each day — we owe them our gratitude, our praise and our deepest respect. Thank you.
