(BUFFALO, NY) – At its annual membership meeting on May 25, 2017, the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy voted in eight Trustees for a three-year term of service. For the 2017-2018 year, the BOPC Board of Trustees consists of 33 members, including emeritus & ex-officio members.
By a quorum of the voting members of the Conservancy, Judy Dean, Dennis Horrigan, Elizabeth McPhail of Hodgson Russ, and Jock Mitchell were all unanimously re-elected to a third term. Bart Kresse of M & T Bank, Peter Scarcello of Hook and Ladder Development, Scott Socha of Delaware North, and Patti Stephen of Buffalo Prep were also successfully elected to their first term.
Dennis Horrigan who has been serving as Chair-elect was voted in by the Board of Trustees to serve as Chairman. Horrigan retired as CEO from Catholic Health Medical Partners in 2015, and has been on the Board of Trustees for the last six years.
“It is a privilege to serve as Chairman of the Olmsted Parks Conservancy Board,” said Dennis Horrigan. “I feel a sense of exhilaration as we work together with other organizations and the City to do our part in contributing to Buffalo’s renaissance.”
David McIntyre and Elizabeth McPhail were re-elected to serve as Vice Chairs, Phil Kadet was re-elected as Treasurer, and Judy Dean was re-elected as Secretary.
“We are fortunate to have such outstanding and dedicated community members who give amply of their time and support for the Conservancy,” stated executive director Stephanie Crockatt. “I’m looking forward to another great year on a positive trajectory for the success of our invaluable non-profit.”
Outgoing Trustees are Joanne Campagna of Bank of America, and Kevin Kelly of Delaware North. Campagna completed her first term of service, and Kelly completed a full decade of service including three years as Board Chairman. Kevin Kelly will continue to assist the Conservancy by leading the 150th Celebration planning committee.
“I have been incredibly proud to serve the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy,” said Kevin Kelly. “As the non-profit park steward, we have accomplished great feats and provided valuable partnership to the City of Buffalo in restoring and preserving our historic public parks. In chairing the planning committee of the 150th anniversary celebration, I look forward to helping our community expand its awareness of our unique park treasures.”
