A ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION DROUGHT GRIPPING THE BUFFALO AREA HAS RUN WELLS DRY, TURNED TREES DORMANT, PROVOKED DAIRY FARMERS TO WEIGH THE POSSIBILITY OF SELLING OFF COWS, AND FORCED BOATERS TO GROUND THEIR VESSELS.
Even the area’s bugs are parched: It’s so arid and hot, they’ve been moving indoors to escape the elements.
DELAWARE PARK IS WELL KNOWN FOR ITS RUNNING IN THE SUMMER AND CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN THE WINTER.
However, for more than a century, people have rowed boats across the lake in the heart of the Olmsted-designed park. That tradition is continuing today, with perhaps a different mix of residents taking advantage of the amenity.
